VFI is proud to host the 6th Annual Angkor Wat Bike Race and Ride! Our intention is simple - to raise funds for VFI projects in Cambodia by offering bikers from around the world to join in solidarity to ride on the Angkor roads through the forest, rice fields and the ancient temple complex. The event grows each year! If you've rode before, we welcome you back! If it is your first year, we are honored to share the joy of riding through the temple complex with great friends, for a great cause - that is our goal! Biking through the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat is unforgettable. Biking through this manmade wonder to raise money for vulnerable Cambodian children is a life-changing experience. Our CAUSE in 2011, as it has been for the past several years, is to support highly vulnerable children struggling to grow up to be healthy, productive and happy people.Net proceeds from the 2011 event -- money raised through bike registration, corporate sponsors and individual pledges -- will be used to support 4 schools in slum areas (Aziza, Youth School, Lakeside and Young Bamboo Shoots School) and 1 Shelter for survivors of sex-trafficking. With support from VFI, Village Focus Cambodia and Empowering Youth in Cambodia provide empowerment, health, education and protective services for hundreds of children living in slum areas.
